GI Bill® and Survivor & Dependent Education Assistance-eligible students,
The enrollment lottery will be remotely held on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 as previously posted. The lottery drawing will be broadcast on Zoom, which is limited to 100 meeting participants. Three of the spots will be filled by Sweetwater employees managing the lottery process, one of them being Director Dr. Burke. The remaining 97 spots in the meeting will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. The lottery drawing process will be recorded and posted to the website for those unable to attend due to time constraints or Zoom participant capacity.

As always, the team has been careful not to divulge the private information of our interested students. The columns revealed in the spreadsheet during the online lottery meeting will ONLY have the last name of entrants. With 585 entries, it is very likely that entrants with the same last name will have applied. We will not be able to show first names, but please understand they are maintained on the sheet in hidden columns.

After the Lottery
Students with number results in the first 300 names drawn will receive their exact place number in an email from Athena Matos (Veteran Program clerk). Participants whose names were picked after number 300 will receive a general email stating they were selected after 300 and likely won’t be enrolled through the GI Bill® program. The precise number of available spaces will not be known until after the legislature passes a state budget, informing us what our program budget will be. There will likely be impacts to all program areas, including the GI Bill® program, from the economic fallout of global and local events. Director Burke anticipates we will be able to register 150 or more students, but this is only an estimate and exact number will not be announced until July 2020.
