ESL Orientation

ESL Classes

Our English as a Second Language (ESL) program is for all students 18 and older whose first language is not English. The classes begin at Beginning Literacy for students who do not speak English at all to Advanced students who can function independently in most familiar situations. Students are placed in the appropriate level to begin instruction within three ESL pathways:

  • Academic ESL
    • Learn English to get your High School Diploma.
    • Learn English to get your GED or HiSET.
    • Learn English to go to a college or university
  • Workplace ESL
    • Learn English to get a job.
    • Learn English to get a better job.
  • Community ESL
    • Learn English to use in everyday life
    • Learn English to speak to the doctor.
    • Learn English to speak to your child’s school.


Students may purchase books and materials but it is not required to register for ESL classes.
